Vad är teologi?
"Begreppet "teologi" (grekiska: θεός - gud, λόγος - ord, kunskap, förståelse, mening) innebär "läran om Gud". I sin ursprungliga, och bokstavliga, betydelse, har termen innebörden av teoretiska tankar och uppfattningar kring det övervärldsliga ("Gud"), världens beskaffenhet och människans förhållande till den (eventuella) övervärldsliga verkligheten." Hur långt kommer man på detta? "Läran om Gud" och "teoretiska tankar och uppfattningar..." Min personliga erfarenhet av tre års teologiska studier är att mycket av teorin med fördel kunde ersatts av församlingsbaserad praktik - förhållandet "80-20" borde ha varit det omvända! (Det är ingen kritik mot skola eller lärare utan ett generellt statement från min sida!).
Jag återger här nedan Bill Johnson (Bethel Church, Redding Cal. s. 118-119 When Heaven Invades Earth) för att spegla min generella övertygelse:
"´Ni tänker fel därför att ni varken kan skriften eller vet något om Guds makt´[Joh 3:2][---] Orden kan och vet i den här versen talar om ´personlig erfarenhet´, men de försökte lära sig utan sådan erfarenhet. De tillhörde mästarna bland dem som tillbringade tid med att studera Guds ord. Men deras studier ledde dem inte till ett gudsmöte. De blev ett självändamål. [...] Det är bristen på möten med kraft som leder till att Gud och hans ord missförstås. Erfarenhet är nödvändig när man bygger upp en sann kunskap om Ordet. Många är rädda för upplevelser eftersom de kan leda bort från Bibeln. Någras misstag har lett till att många är rädda för att sträva efter en gudserfarenhet."
"Gud gör som han behagar. Samtidigt som han är trogen sitt ord, unviker han inte att handla på ett sätt som vi inte förstår oss på. Vad jag vill säga är att teologi, så långt det ska förstås som läran om Gud, aldrig kan begränsas till bokstav; teoretiska tankar och uppfattningar om Honom är i grund och botten främmande för den Gud som alltid vill uppenbara sig genom den helige Ande - "himlens dynamis"! Bokstaven dödar men Anden ger liv!
Så, vad är teologi...Vad borde det vara? Kanske kan man säga att teologi borde vara insamlandet av gudserfarenheter som leder till nya gudserfarenheter som blir till min egen, församlingens och Gudsrikets uppbyggelse... (i vilken grad det har med universitet och högskolor att göra får vara ett ämne att utveckla senare...)

How far do you come with this? "The doctrine of God" and "theoretical thoughts and perceptions ..." My personal experience from three years of theological studies is that much of the theory could usefully have been given way to church-based training - the relationship "80-20", should have been the opposite! (It is no criticism of the school or teachers, but a blanket statement on my part!).
I reproduce below Bill Johnson (Bethel Church, Redding Cal. P. 118-119 When Heaven Invades Earth. My translation from Swedish)to reflect my general beliefs:
" 'You do err, you can not the scripture or know anything about the power of God" [Jn 3:2 ][---] words can and do in this verse speaks of' personal experience ', but they tried to learn without such experience. They belonged to the masters of those who spent time studying the Word of God. But their studies did not lead them to a divine appointment. They became an end in itself. [...] There is the lack of meetings with the force that makes God and his Word misunderstood. Experience is essential in building a true knowledge of the Word. Many people are afraid of experiences because they can distract them from the Bible. Some mistakes have made many afraid to seek a divine experience. "
"God does as he pleases. While he is true to his word, he does not avoid acting in a way that we do not understand. [---] He is the radiant morning star, who surround himself with darkness [Rev 22: 16, Ps 97:2]. He hates divorce, but is himself divorced [Mal 2:16, Jer 3:8 ][---] The uncomfortable tension [...] is to for us to continue being honest and quite dependent on the Holy Spirit to understand who God is and what he is saying to us through his book. God is so foreign to our natural way of thinking that we only truly see what he shows us [...].
"The Bible is God's perfect word. It shows God, the manifest, the unexplained, the unfathomable God and sometimes offensive God. It shows the greatness of our God, but it does not hold him. God is greater than his book [---] We have the internal conflict to respect him as not changing, but promise to do something new for us. "

What I am saying is that theology, as far as it should be understood as the doctrine of God, can never be confined to letters; theoretical ideas and opinions about him are basically foreign to the God who always want to reveal himself through the Holy Spirit - "Heaven's dynamic!"
So, what is theology... What should it be? Perhaps you could say theology should be the collecting on God-experiences facilitating new experience of God which is to the edification of my self, the church and the Kingdom... (in what degree it has to do with colleges and universities may be a subject to develop later ...)
